Path to a live dashboard

Use this checklist the first time you bring data in and publish a board for others.

Why it matters

Following the sequence prevents empty Semantic tiles, missing tables, and boards with no live data.

How to use

  1. Get access and finish Workspace setup (trial starts here).
  2. Connect a database (or use a catalog your admin already shared).
  3. Refresh the catalog and apply changes.
  4. Build and publish a logical model.
  5. Optional: save an Ask Oma answer as a report.
  6. Create a dashboard, set a default data source, add tiles, and save.
  7. Share with teammates when the board looks right.

  1. Access — Waitlist / Request Access / invitation / free trial → Workspace setup.
  2. Data — Data sources → connect → Configure → Import + Access.
  3. Catalog — Refresh, review changes, Apply.
  4. Model — Modeler → create → Publish.
  5. Ask — Ask Oma → Save report (optional).
  6. Dashboard — Dashboards → New → Edit → tiles → Save.
  7. Share — Share or visibility on the dashboard.

Success check: Viewers can open the dashboard and see live tiles.

Common mistakes

  • Skipping Publish on the model, then finding nothing in Semantic setup.
  • Adding tiles before Access includes the tables you need.
