Each tile has Setup (SQL or Semantic) and Style. Preview, choose a chart type, then save the tile.

Why it matters

Good tiles are readable, correct, and consistent with team language.

When to use

  • SQL when you need custom logic.
  • Semantic when you want published model fields.

How to use

  1. Open the pencil on a tile.
  2. Choose SQL or Semantic.
  3. Run preview.
  4. Pick visualization and style.
  5. Save the tile, then save the dashboard.

Click path

  1. Edit mode → tile pencil → Setup / Style.

Success check: The tile renders correctly in view mode.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving preview unrun before saving.
  • Mixing unclear titles across similar KPIs.
